Roberto Pálmer is a performing arts professional, master´s degree in Arts Administration. Music director of Sanchinarro Cultural Center in Madrid. Collaborating with the Spanish National Orchestra (OCNE) in the educative department.
First prize of the national composition contest “Ciudad de Alcobendas” at the age of sixteen, Palmer´s works have been played by different soloists and ensembles. Roberto is focused on bringing melodies back to contemporary classical music in order to attract a wider audience attention. «Disentimento», «En lo profundo», «Buscando la luz», «Instantes» and «Noche de danza» are some of his most played works, with thousands of views in digital platforms.
Artistic director of DEOrquestal (Diffusion Ensemble), founded in 2005 as a chamber orchestra supporting new talented composers and soloists. At an earlier artistic stage as a conductor Pálmer had guest appearances with European orchestras including the “Gran Canaria Philharmonic”, “Malaga Philharmonic Orchestra”, the “Spanish Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra” (OSRTVE), “Comunidad de Madrid Symphony Orchestra” (ORCAM), “Slovenian Philharmonic”, «JONDE», “Extremadura Symphony”, “Valencia Symphony”… Semi-finalist of the «Emmerich Kalman» and «Donatella Flick» conducting competition in Budapest and London.
Attending to the music of our time Pálmer recorded “Shimmer” of Andrew Nishikawa (Japan – USA) during the Aspen Music Festival (USA), premiered “Le déjà-lá de la mort” of Edith Alonso (Spain), the Spanish premieres of Partita n 2 for eight instruments of Julián Orbón and the Theresienmesse of Michael Haydn. Regularly conducted works of the most renowned Spanish composers, focused on Tomás Marco and José Zárate music.
Roberto Pálmer believes that music, arts and culture are essential for social change, that is why he regularly manages concerts and projects collaborating with non-profit organizations.
